Other than heart disease, chronic stress can also cause diabetes to strike. It's for the fact that being stressed all the time can lead to the elevation of the levels of sugar in the bloodstream. Just like heart disease, there are many different risk factors for diabetes. According to health authorities, one of them is increased blood sugar levels. The consumption of sugary and starchy foods is not the only thing that can cause the blood sugar to rise, but also stress.

While it's a fact that stress cannot directly cause cancer to come into being, certain behaviors associated with it are regarded as risk factors. Some examples of those are cigarette smoking and alcoholism. Failure to get a good night's sleep is an example, too. Another one is stress eating that can lead to obesity, a common risk factor for cancer.

It's a good thing that you can have your stress levels lowered via a number of ways. Getting a therapeutic massage, taking a relaxing bath, listening to calming tunes, reading a book, writing in your diary, exercising and having a pet are just a few wonderful examples. Also an effective solution for stress is meditating. Actually, this stress busting pursuit is part of Buddhism, an amalgamation of religion and philosophy.
