A Brief Summary On Car Detailing Lexington KY

By Joyce Sanders

The car detailing of any vehicle begins with washing and drying the car. That is the most important step yet most people overlook it because most of the car imperfections are introduced during the regular washing of the car. The car gets the water spots and swirls if it is not done correctly. The cleaning of the vehicle should be done twice a week thus car detailing Lexington KY.

First, a prewash is done. It essentially prevents the addition of waterspouts on the surface. The water minerals have to be removed at this stage. The shampoo is then applied to the car for degreasing and light scrubbing is done. Water is then used to rinse. The vehicle is then air dried before wiping with a towel to prevent the paint wash.

Some of these imperfections that remain after the washing are removed using the clay bar. Application of the clay bar leaves the surface very smooth and glassy. It is worth noting, some of these imperfections removed are invisible to the bare eye. This process must be repeated either once or twice a year.

The clay usually comes in two forms a quick detailer and a clay lube. The bar lubricant is applied first to smoothen the surface. Enabling easy application of the clay bar without marring is essential. As a result, the clay will be used efficiently. A mixture of optimum rinse off and water is then used to finish it off.

The surfaces are then polished. This stage is arguably the one that has the most dramatic effect on the way the paint looks. The process gets rid of almost all the imperfection on the surface like the oxidation of painted surfaces and also technical imperfections. Using regular water and soap method, in the long run, destroy this surface polish. Therefore, it should be done by annually.

The buffer equipment is usually preferred in polishing the car as compared to the hand. Hand polishing had its demerits such like the result would be an unevenly polished surface due to varying force. In addition to that, the amount of force applied is a lot hence the whole process is very tiring. Polishing a vehicle twice a year should suffice.

Glazing, an optical step in the detailing process is important in adding a layer of gloss. That is if it is done professionally. It also increases the paint thickness. As a result, it fills up where there are minor imperfections. Caution should always be taken to prevent the waxes and sealants from being washed off. The glazing can be done based on the needs of the vehicles owner.

Before anything, the car should be washed clean, dried and polished before using the glaze. A black finishing pad is recommended to be used. It is important to note that the glaze only fills the imperfections temporarily. It cannot also be layered, so a single layer is sufficient for optimal results.

There are other detailing procedures worth knowing although they are not key. These include layering, coating, waxing, wheel, microfiber care, and the glass care and tire care.
