By Ann Clark

Just like any other product or device, there are improvements made by the technology which are today being used and the ones which were used earlier are being eliminated. However, there comes a time when the only way to get out of problems you have is to get the old model of the device and try making your move. This also happens when you are used to an automatic car which does not have a clutch only the brake and the gas pedals. When you want to use a manual car, you need to start by practicing driving stick shift first before going to the road.

There are rules for handling the vehicle on the road in order to stay safe and avoid making accident of which they can be fatal. Before taking your first step and get in automobile, you should be confident enough to start learning something new but do not rush and start speeding before you are sure you can make it throughout. Therefore, take time to learn by doing this on a road side or field where there are no many people.

The first thing you have to do when you have entered the car is to adjust the sear and make sure you are able to reach all the pedals and push then in completely. This will allow you avoid getting tired on trying to reach the pedal. The other thing is to push the clutch fully and disengage the gear. You will know you have done so when the gear lever is at the center and can move freely from one side to the other.

This time you will be shaking and with a lot of fear but also exited on the move you have just made. By pushing the clutch in fully, engage the first gear and start releasing grasp slowly while pushing the accelerator pedal slowly. This is to balance the power produced according to the gear you have started with. The car will start moving but watch out not to forget to always be alert of everything in front of you.

This task should be carried out in an open area like field or at any other place where there is no people. This is to ensure safety and increase your skills without thinking of anything else except yourself and the car. You should be confidence about this and allow your ego guide you.

Furthermore, you need to create a room for you to be able to reach the gear lever even without looking at it since doing so might make you loose track and find yourself rolling to different direction. When you are already at the move and you want to change the gear, you need to push the clutch in at once while releasing the accelerator pedal at the same speed and engage the net gear.

You have to release clasp on same pace and pushing the gas to maintain the speed. This should be repeated to make sure you master the steps and you will be ready to move on the road faster if everything is well memorized.

These steps are simple once memorized and practiced but they need to be followed to the letter so every move will be mastered and get in to your head. If you do not trust yourself, it is always advisable to ask an expert to accompany you.
