Free Criminal Records Arizona

By Claire Dowell

Arizonians are safeguarded with certain laws which allow them to live a peaceful life. In return, they are encouraged by the authorities to be vigilant on these criminals by helping them pin down the violators of the law. As a matter of fact, they have launched some projects and programs wherein the Arizona criminal records are readily made available for whatever legal purposes more especially for background checking reasons. By doing so, the resolution of cases can be realized faster as they gain support from the general public in the campaign against criminals.

So, how can Arizonians help in upholding the law? It's simple; they just have to report whatever it is that the police should know about. In the past, only the authorities are commissioned to keep the criminals under their custody. But today, it has to change enormously as population has ballooned over time and it is no longer as easy to do the law enforcement job as it used to be back in the old days. So, since it too much to handle already for the authorities, they have found ways to get the public's involvement in exercising the law by serving justice to the victims of crimes.

So, in the process, the State has developed some resources which provide help in getting the people to be involved in maintaining the peace and order within Arizona. They have set-up a web-based records provider where people can simply sign-up, type in for names and find-out information regarding someone who is acting suspiciously. On this note, a lot of individuals are going to be doing the basic investigation on a suspected criminal. If a person finds out something very substantial against another person, he or she can immediately inform the police about it for the necessary action. That's how it works.

To get it formally established, the State has called to form the Department of Public Safety. Its core responsibility would be to take care of all the legal records obtained from various law enforcement units like the Highway Patrol, Narcotics, and Police among others. Over time, the office had to create another organization under the same department to spearhead on a specific assignment that is on criminal records. They called it the Criminal History Records Section which was officially in operation since 1969 up to present. So, these are some of the steps taken by the State government to get the support from the general public.

Name-based type of searching is not the norm in Arizona; you are required to do finger-printing type of search instead in order to proceed in acquiring the legal reports on the various documented offenses. Thus, the Department of Public Safety basically takes the job as a provider of relevant records for whatever legal purposes. They have established rules and procedures on how to conduct the search. However, the administration of these files is still generally governed by the existing constitution in Arizona. They technically accommodate background checks including those performed on employees, clearance letters and finger-printing services.

The said department even divided the records to be more organized and to easily accommodate the applications to be done by the residents. The records include the public records offences, public safety department records and the Arizona criminal background checks. To get started with the search one has to complete the records request form which is technically called the record review packet. This packet consists of the following details including fingerprint card, contact information and the pre-addressed envelope. It normally follows all the formalities usually done in government offices, thus results can be released in days. However, residents now have the alternative to obtain free arrest records online in just a matter of minutes. The only requirement is a computer with Internet access to be able to proceed with the search.
