Return Of Alfa Romeo US Sales Is Serious, Really

By Cornelius Nunev

Alfa Romeo is very significant about returning to the United States sometime soon, with the gorgeous 4C roadster leading the charge. Given, any mention of the return of Alfa Romeo United States, normally, has to be taken with a big old pile of salt.

Going back to US

Fiat has been guaranteeing for a while that they are going to bring Alfa Romeo, Fiat's luxury brand that slots between the lower-end luxury brand Lancia and little more than rebadged Chryslers.

Fiat said that Alfa would come back in 2013, then 2014, and then 2013 again. Alfa has been gone from the States for a long time but has been promised a speedy return.

Right now, according to NBC News, there is still a plan for a return of Alfa Romeo U.S. sales. Fiat's plan is still to sell the Alfa Romeo 4C, a beautiful two-seater sports car. According to the Star Phoenix, a newspaper in Saskatoon, Canada, it's intended to hit dealerships later this year.

Response very small

Even though it may seem like the Alfa Romeo news is huge, people generally do not really care about it. In fact, not lots of people will be getting the $75,000 to $100,000 vehicle. It is a really costly cost that equates to payments people cannot afford, as shown in an auto loan rates calculator, according to NBC News.

Furthermore, according to the Star-Phoenix, production volume is planned to be around 2,500 per year, because of the cabin being mainly made from carbon fiber.

Also, as Car and Driver points out, Alfa has been big on promises and very small on delivery with regards to resuming sales in the U.S.. The brand pulled out of the industry in 1995 and its high-water mark was in 1986, when Alfa moved 8,201 units.

It seems like Alfa is more severe about returning now, though it has been making promises to return that have not happened since 2000. In 2008, they did sell a few 8C Competizione roadsters, but that is all they have done.

People do not care

The press is apparently making a huge deal over "Alfa Romeo United States," and some might wonder why that is. Ultimately, it's just another luxury brand; so what if it's Italian and has a "wop engine," as Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne put it? Hardly anybody bought them when they were sold here and they were notoriously unreliable.

Really, the only reason to purchase an Alfa over anything else is the belief that the vehicle is ridiculously beautiful. The Geneva Motor Show and other auto shows all over the world will show off the concept Gloria later this year, according to Automobile Magazine, but it is anticipated to be beautiful. We can already see the 4C and 8C, and those automobiles are better-looking than anything I've ever seen.
