Important Information On The Filter Press

When you hear the words filter media, large companies or manufacturing plants come into mind. Generally, filtration is the process by which water and solid waste such as rocks are separated. A marble-making company is one of the places where filter press are utilized. The water is recycled after filtration and used later on at the marble cutting stage.

Basically, the filters contain two plates covered with filter media. These sifter media create a seal between the two filter plates. There then is the application of enough force to pump the slurry into the hollows formed between the two closed plates. The purpose of the strainer cloth is to allow the filtrate out through the openings of the filter media with withholding the residue.

At one point or another, the chambers will be full of the residue. Then, the feed pump will stop to avoid congesting the chambers. Afterwards, the pressure sealing the plates is released thus the strainer plates coming apart from each other. From there, the dried-up residue is discharged from the plates and gravity plays a large role in the procedure.

It is not uncommon to assume that the sifter might move in the process of dewatering. Some even presume that the plates get some sort of pressing in order to efficiently remove the water from the solid material. This, however, is nothing but a misconception. The sifter usually only moves to release the dried-up material and to close for another cycle.

The one thing that makes us really grateful for technology is the ability to have machines that automatically work on command. The strainer media is almost automatic and this makes it not only reliable but also preferable. The fact that the machine can set itself to levels that it can best function makes it beat all of the competition.

For a piece of equipment to serve you for the time intended and efficiently, you have to be ready to pay for maintenance as often as the machine needs to. A good example is the over-head beam strainer. As the name suggests the strainer plates hang from overhead ray. Therefore, there are no parts to the side of the machinery making it easier to change the filter cloths.

The overhead beam is one of the types of sifter media available in the market. As the name suggests, the sifter plates hang from overhead ray. It so happens that there are no parts to the sides of the strainer, therefore, making it easier to maintain. For example, you do not have to remove the plates while changing the strainer cloths.

With the side ray, the sifter plates are reinforced by ray running on the side of the media. With these, maintenance may not be as easy since it would take a while to get to the plates to change the sifter cloths. With such, an automatic wash system would be the easiest and most suitable form of maintenance. It may also be more affordable.
