Scrap My Car For Money Towards A New One

By Thomas Roberts

Owning your own car is a luxury and an expensive one at that. Depending on where you live and work you may need a vehicle on a daily basis. So, cast your mind back to the day your drove your vehicle off the forecourt for the first time. In that time for sure you were not thinking about the day you would have to scrap your beloved car. But there does come a time when you have to stop paying to have things fixed and say to yourself today I will scrap my car so that I can buy a newer one.

If you use your car for getting to work or for the school run it must be reliable. If it doesn't start half the time, your kids will get angry if they are late for school. If your vehicle breaks down on the way to the grocery store, your hungry family will get angry. When you can't rely on your vehicle anymore its really time you got a new one.

So, although you may not have a lot of spare cash to buy a new truck or station wagon, there does come a time when it is the best option. Repair bills for your auto can get out of control, especially if you are paying more in repairs than your automobile is actually worth. How much is your auto worth I hear you say. Even when it is totally broken it is still worth money for scrap.

So let's say that scrapping your truck really is the best idea. You could have it towed to your nearest yard, or your could try selling it for parts. Be aware that the value of your motor that you can find online by searching for make and model will be a value when the engine is in working order.

If you look online to see how much your station wagon may be worth, you may be expected to drive it to a location for assessment. This is not possible if it doesn't start. Moreover, the most valuable part of your auto is your engine. If this is broken then your vehicle will be worth no more than the weight in metal.

So if you are not desperate for the cash straight away and you have a garage, by all means start stripping your car. Good tires will sell easily, as will some of the metal parts such as the bonnet and doors.

Depending on how long you have been driving your motor you may have become very attached to it. You will remember when it was brand new and you spent your Sunday afternoon washing and polishing it. But once all you can remember are the repair bills, it's time to part with your beloved truck.

If the case is that you are need of the cash straight away to put down as a deposit for a new car, then call your tow truck and go to your local yard today. They will always weigh and pay you fairly for the weight in metal of your truck. Money that you can use towards buying a newer one.
