Knowing The Difference Between Spirituality And Religion

By Robert Stewart

When you build a personal connection with your spiritual or religious side, you are sure to see it sculpt your whole life. So much of spirituality and religion seems to be thought of as a group experience, like at a church. On the contrary, the most important part of it happens in your own mind.

It is so important to be a part of a community for so many reasons. One of the top ones is that these people hold you accountable to your own values. Another is that it is an excellent social experience that keeps your mind healthy and rejuvenated.

If you are not sure of who to talk about this kind of thing with, your friends are always a great option. That way, you can know that you are talking to people who are going to tell you the truth and be open with you. The longer you have known the person, the more likely they are to tell you the complete and honest truth.

This is a great thing to talk to your children or parents about. No matter what, you will always know that your family is going to love you no matter what, and would never judge you. It is always great when parents allow their kids to figure out what they naturally want to believe, which might even end up affirming your own ideologies in the end if they are appealing enough to this younger generation.

There are all kinds of ways that being religious can make you happier. In general, it makes it so much easier to be peaceful and friendly and know in your heart that everything will work out. If you are never spiritual, it is all too easy to give in and believe that the world is a terrible place and all of life is just suffering and that is all that there is.

If you walk around every day in fear of death, it is very hard to ever live the life that you want to live. The big thing the religion provides is a way of seeing a continuation of your experience even after your body has passed away. It is amazing how big of a help this can be for you throughout many points in life when death becomes a major fear.

Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things that any person has to go through. If you have ever had this happen to you and did not have a spiritual or religious way of coping with it, the whole world can seem terrible and bleak. Seeing the light often involves opening up your heart and mind to these kinds of beliefs, which can show you that your friend or relative is truly in a better place, and waiting for you on the other side.

This is a great way to strengthen your connection to the universe around you. Sometimes, it is easy to feel tossed around by the world, and with all the technological distractions, completely cut off from it. When you take the time to be spiritual, you are opening yourself up to the world around you, to which you are intrinsically linked.
