Quality Beef Source Comes From Irish Black Cattle

By Annabelle Holman

Human population keeps on growing. This calls for an equal growth in size of food to sustain it. For this reason, several persons have specialized in different areas of food production. Amongst these are the specialists with knowledge and drive to generate more protein food. This is where the gene scientists who came up with Irish black cattle belong. Together with other committed fellows, they have done both Americans and the world a lot of good.

Origin of these animals can be traced back to late twentieth century. Works that finally led to emergence of these Irish black were initiated by Doctor Lush. Boney just carried on with original works of Lush and eventually after rigorous scientific process, there was a break through. These scientist and company were able to come up with reliable breed to supply Americans and or global market with beef. Discovery of this kind came in time to meet food demands that are high and still rising.

Physically, Irish blacks are completely black as their name suggest. Occasionally, a red calf may be born amongst blacks. Frame size may be described as average and with sound legs. A closer view reveals average muscled body of a strong animal.

Farmers keeping this same animal have since then joined hands to form an association. It has its vision and mission with one main objective of protecting their interests in their livestock. It is a nonprofit making organization which allows new members to join. However, before one becomes a member, a gene examination has to be carried out to verify identity of animals in question.

Rearing any breed of cattle come with certain benefits. For these ones, it is more than a benefit. Farmers gain far much beyond expectation. This similar experience trickles down to consumers who enjoy products generated by industrious farmers. Pure breeding and hence good livestock quality is the main advantage found in these cattle. They therefore yield to the expectation of individuals keeping them.

This breed posses superior genes and keeping them is not a source of stress. Farmers keep it all over and it thrives best everywhere in the lands of America. Adverse weather conditions do not have an extensive alteration in their survival rate. It resists most diseases and has long hair to withstand cold places. Better still, it can feed well on whatever grass is present in the environment. No specified grass species is selected for grazing.

Farmers receive some additional benefits while keeping a herd like Irish blacks. These include a short gestation period and proven high fertility rates. Short gestation implies that one does not wait too long to get additional heads in the herd while high fertility allows for fewer bulls to serve many cows. For instance, one bull can serve up to 140 cows.

In summary, it is rewarding to keep this animal. Production is high per cattle reared, feeding animals is simple and vital information needed by clients is readily made available. This could be online on through several available physical facilities. It is rewarding to keep them and all interested persons should give their desire a chance.
