The Leisure Of Living In Fifth Wheel Trailers

By Tanisha Berg

Thousands of design choices are available. The first option to consider is whether you want to consider 30 or 50 amp fifth wheel trailers. More amperage means you can run more things at the same time. An example would be using the air conditioner, microwave, and blow dryer at the same time. Single or multiple slide outs makes a difference in how big the rooms are. Some have arctic packages while others come with a power or manual awning.

A design in particular changes the name of the fifth wheel. When there is a hitch in the front and a ramp at the end of it, the name changes to toy haulers. A toy hauler allows for easy shipping and storage of ATVs, scooters, snow mobiles, and motorcycles.

This type of living can be very small and compact. Appliances and electronics are very small. The microwave is usually big enough for at least one plate and the oven has at least one rack in the center. The stove is usually just as small with two or three burners and a small range hood to go with it.

More people are choosing to live in fifth wheels full time to downsize. Downsizing makes a person or family downsize possessions as well. This option is cheaper than apartment dwelling and includes solitude and a backyard. Several RV parks offer free cable, internet, water and sewage which is not an option for any other type of abode.

Liquid propane can have its advantages because it is mobile and easily refilled. The disadvantage is on size and how often the tank needs to be refilled. In the winter the fifth wheeler can use an extensive amount of liquid propane. Propane is already used for heating the water, stove, and oven on a daily basis. In the winter additional usage is for keeping the home warm and comfortable.

One other downside is whether or not the purchaser already has a full sized vehicle to pull the trailer. A full size vehicle consists of size and weight capable to pull a very heavy load by hitch. This is not an issue if the owner has a vehicle capable of doing the job. Otherwise, the purchase of a trailer may also need moving assistance. Renting a large vehicle can also be another option to moving the trailer from one place to another.

Since this home pulls very well, it is ideal for traveling to any location. When moving from one place to another, little is needed to connect and detach from the ground. If the home has slide outs, the flip of a switch easily brings them in for easy roaming. Several locations have RV parks specifically made for a portable trailer. These trailers are also taken to areas where tents are allowed and used in a similar fashion.

Class A trailers are an alternate travel trailer which can be driven. Unfortunately, class A comes with the added maintenance of a vehicle. Fifth wheels are much more cost efficient than Class A trailers.
