Easy Lentil Soup For A Unique Nutritional Meal

There is one ingredient that makes an excellent nutritional meal. It is lentils, containing all the B vitamins and other minerals that are essential to good health. Nutritionists bill this as almost the perfect food due to nutritional content and extremely low cost. They can be used in many different dishes, but easy lentil soup is one of the easiest and favorite of many.

A family of six to eight can be served for under ten dollars if care is taken in selecting ingredients to go with the lentil. All the family can enjoy this meal by choosing ingredients that is agreeable to all the family members. With the range of ingredients that blend well with them, it is easy to pick everyone's favorite.

One thing you can do with lentils is to make a variety of soups. Whether you prefer a spicy or cool soup, or smooth and creamy or chunky, you can have it with these. Even if you just want clear, then that is also possible. Just choose what you want and make it to your taste.

Lentils are not just for soup. They are excellent in many other dishes as well. They are not to be avoided. They are full of fiber, protein, and valuable nutrients, and when combined with other ingredients, a good substitute for meats. This makes them especially economical as a protein source, which is good when you are on a tight budget.

Lentil bowls are a great way to please everyone's taste, with just the ingredients they want. Combine the lentils with any vegetable you wish, toss in a good serving, and pour over whatever dressing you want. Each family member can choose their own dressing. You can make an ethnic dish by the choice of dressing. An egg, goat cheese and potatoes make it more like the traditional breakfast bowls. If you want to go vegan, leave off the egg and cheese.

Add a creamy chipotle or avocado sauce for creaminess, and other toppings. You can make the dressings with Greek yogurt for greater health as well.

A salad made with lentils makes a beautiful presentation. Put a bed of spinach or arugula, pile on lentils, add fried Halloumi, and some micro-greens on top. Halloumi is a goat and sheep cheese that is briny and firm white cheese. Top the whole salad with zucchini, thinly sliced, and some roasted heirloom tomatoes. Top with more micro-greens for a garnish.

Shepherds pie is always a hearty favorite, and even if you are vegan, you can enjoy it with lentils. Stir fry some mushrooms with spicy lentils, add vegetables of your choice, and you have a hearty filing. Top it with mashed sweet potatoes and add a crumb topping. Add spices to your taste. With a little creativity, you can come up with many dishes. You can experiment and discard any you don't like, as lentils are so cheap.
