A Pinot Grigio is something that pairs very well with a seafood dinner. This wine will really bring out the strong flavor of seafood or fish. There are other white wines that also go well with your seafood. These two are a culinary delight.

When you are trying a new wine, trust your instincts. For instance, if a friend loves a certain wine but you don't like it so much, don't buy some just to look good. You will save yourself from throwing away your money on a wine you already know you're not likely to enjoy.

The next time you need to clean up a wine stain, grab some Windex. It can get rid of the problem almost right away, and it is much more effective than simply using soap and water. Use it as soon as you can before the stain sets.

Get a screw top bottle if buying wine for tailgating. Screw tops don't need a wine opener and are easy to open. Once the party is over, they can easily be resealed, whereas replacing a cork doesn't provide a tight seal.

Use the proper glass for your red and white wines. White wine like a small narrow glass, air cannot get to it. Reds however, are better in a large-mouthed wide glass. A wider glass will let more air get into the glass, awakening the flavor as it reaches the air.

Not every white wine must be chilled. There are many different textures among white wines, and they each respond best at various temperatures. Sauvignon blanc is at its best when chilled, but chardonnay and pinot gris are better at a warmer temperature.

It can really pay off to have a wide selection of wines on hand at home. It is useful to keep a wide assortment. Try different types of wine, including sparkling, red, white and sweet, if you want to be a great host to your friends and family.

Dessert wines make a great after-dinner drink. Great choices for dessert wines are Italian Moscato, French Champagne or California Port. Your guests will love relaxing with one of these wines as they sit by the fire.

When visiting a winery, be sure to plan out your trip in advance. You should figure out how much you can afford to spend on your visit and on wine and find a friend who can drive if you want to drink. Also, be prepared to describe the wines that you prefer and have questions on hand for the guide.

There are many different message boards you can join to talk about wine. You can learn many things for other connoisseurs, and you might be able to teach them something as well. Another member may suggest a wine that becomes your new favorite.

As we said at the start, wine has many different uses. It is important to choose the right wine, because it can make a big difference in the taste of your food. Apply the aforementioned tips to help make your wine enjoyment fulfilling.
