One of the major events in the Christian doctrine that many followers are looking out for is known as the Rapture which is mentioned in the book of Revelations. The Rapture is also known as the Second Coming and is the event in which Jesus returns to earth to get all his followers and finally defeat the devil. Of course, one would wonder what the signs are of this event.
Now, the doctrines would state that there are four main, pivotal signs that would predict the timing of the end of the world. Obviously, the first one would be the presence of four horsemen and the coming of the tribulations, throwing the earth into utter chaos. One would know these four horsemen as war, famine, pestilence, and death.
With this, one may actually interpret this as the coming of a World War III which will now be a nuclear war that can devastate an entire country worse than the atomic bombs did to Japan in World War II. This would then be followed by famine, pestilence, and finally death wherein no human would be spared from what was to come. With all the calamities, it is not hard to see that it is possible that the Rapture is soon to come.
Another sign would be the return of Elijah wherein he would restore the natural order of all things. This was a direct prophecy from Jesus Christ himself, so many Christians actually see this sign as one of the biggest signs of the Return. In fact, many regard Herbert W Armstrong as the Elijah that was mentioned by Christ for the end times.
If one is familiar with the book of Matthew twenty four, then he or she will be aware of another sign which states that Christianity will spread throughout the entire world. Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, one of his commandments was to spread the gospel and convert as many people as possible. This has most likely already been done since Christianity is an extremely big religion on a worldly scale.
This also relates to the prophecy that when people start sharing the gospel, the end times are near. Obviously, this pilgrimage has already been happening over the past few years which is why Christianity has become a big religion. Of course, the Bible also mentions the coming of a false prophet as well so that is a bit tricky.
Lastly, there is the sign that an extremely evil man will take control of this world and unify all currencies under one. This man will be known as the antichrist and will be opposing Christianity. Now, there are actually so many people who may fit this description so it may be a hard to pinpoint who exactly this evil leader is.
Because of his or her influence, there will be an extremely big fallout of Christianity which will make many people turn away from God. This would enhance the army of Satan which will be used to fight against Jesus. When this will all happen though, no one knows but believers are all prepared for when the Savior finally comes back.
