The Best Seasoning For Bloody Mary

Although basic components of every good Bloody Mary are tomato juice and vodka, this widely known cocktail would never become so popular without other flavorings and spices that it contains. The most common ones are Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and salt, horseradish and lemon juice, and, of course, inevitable celery stalk. Good mixture of these components makes perfect seasoning for Bloody Mary.

The most popular type is made with three parts of vodka, one part of lemon juice and six parts of your favorite tomato juice, with the addition of a dash of Worcestershire sauce, pepper, salt and Tabasco. It is served in a long glass, filled with ice cubes and garnished with celery stalk, sometimes even with lemon wedge. It is tasty, refreshing and really interesting drink.

Although it contains alcohol, Bloody Mary is still reputed to cure the hangover. That's why it is often served with brunch. The real origin of this cocktail is unknown, but some say that it was originally made using half tomato juice and half vodka only. Even so, today it is popular to add different spices and other ingredients to this popular drink, to create new and interesting flavors.

Some people prefer adding beef consomme, or some other unusual flavors. Most people enjoy restaurant style cocktail. There are so many different spices you can experiment with, for example all types of pepper, different sauces, olives and aromatic salts. Even so, Worcestershire and Tabasco are the most popular ingredients, together with salt, pepper, lemon and horseradish.

The exact combination of necessary ingredients isn't always easy to achieve in your home. You can experiment with your favorite spices, or you can use prefabricated seasoning mixtures. Together with already prepared rimming salts, they are made of all-natural ingredients to provide that authentic restaurant taste you want to achieve. Your cocktails will always be perfect, with so little effort.

So, if you prefer authentic restaurant style, use so called classic mixture. You just have to mix tomato juice, vodka and prescribed amount of seasoning in a glass, garnish it with celery stalk, and your job is done. In this specific mixture you will find Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, red pepper, black pepper, salt, garlic and horseradish. Of course, you can find different mixtures, for example with more intensive taste.

Rimming salts are made with red and black pepper, alder smoked sea salt, celery salt and some other components. Some mixtures contain hickory-smoked, vegetarian friendly bacon salt. These special mixtures will add something unusual and particularly tasty to your drinks, but you can also improve the taste of your food if you sprinkle some on it.

Most mixtures are available in small packages or larger bottles. You can store them in your fridge for a long time. If you buy a small bag, once you open it, just put the content in a small bottle, for easier storage. All you need to do now is to buy your favorite vodka brand, a few bottles of good tomato juice and some celery stalks.
