Metals are basically materials with a very strong molecular structure that they can handle high levels of stress or strain without necessarily deforming. These metallic elements are also derived from the earth through a process commonly referred to as mining. The varieties here include copper, iron, bronze, silver, gold and many others.

In addition to the rigidity metallic elements also have floating ions that make them able to move energy around within the structure of the material. It is due to this special character that this material is used in the transfer of electrical energy from the source to the point of use using wires. They are said to be good conductors of heat and electrical energy generally.

The fact that metallic materials can transfer heat energy has made them very useful in industries and also homes especially in the kitchen. Their high strength and rigidity quality makes them very effective cooking materials in the kitchen. They can also be used effectively as changing rods and forks in other forms of industrial work.

All the equipment however, heats up as it is being used. This makes them very dangerous to the bare hands since it can cause severe burns to the skin. A solution had to be sought for this particular problem. Frames were then designed out of materials that are known to be non conductors to prevent such.
