First, be attentive of the hatches. When it comes to the hatches, it is only appropriate to secure and seal them tightly with the use of tape. Through securing and sealing your hatches, you can prevent the damages caused by wind-driven water to your boats. The hatches should also not come open when in transit.

You might still have some items left in your watercraft's cabin. For the said items, it is imperative that you pack them up securely. If you have lockers, you must also have the locker doors secured tightly. By doing that, you can avoid having loose items rolling around the cabin during transit. Otherwise, there will be damages.

Boats have parts in them that will only work through a battery. One excellent example of the said part would be the engine hatch cover. When it comes to these battery operated parts, have their batteries properly disconnected. For some cables, tie them off properly so that they do not come in contact during the transit.

You might have a situation where you need to move the watercraft during a cold day. When there is a possibility of a cold weather, it is important to properly protect the watercraft during the transit. Thus, it would be good if you can winterized the watercraft so that it can fare the travel even during a cold day.

There is also the dinghy. As much as you can, make sure that the watercraft's dinghy is not transported on its davits. You can either store and secure the said dinghy in the cabin of your watercraft or you can have it securely padded and lashed within the cockpit. It is up to you to make the decision.

Get a shrink-wrap too. It is only a given for you to use the shrink-wrap when you are interested in protecting your boat. The shrink-wrap is effective against dirt, road tar, and engine exhaust. Of course, you better watch out for situations where the shrink-wrap can get a tear. You can still repair it with a tape, though.
