Warning: You Might Have To Walk Away

By Evan Sanders

We have all been there.

Your love is being abused. You feel horrible about yourself. You know that you should walk away from that person who is taking advantage of you but you can't muster up the courage to do it.

Although we've all been there and being in this place is the worst, we have to do the one thing that we never really want to do - walk away from the situation.

There's this really interesting art in leaving people who don't treat you well, respect you enough to reply to you, or don't act like you mean much to them.

How do you say goodbye to someone without losing yourself, burning bridges, or disrespecting the person across from you? Tough question. But if you lead from your heart and speak your truth you can hardly go wrong.

This can be incredibly hard to do at times.

What's the indicator you need to take care of yourself and walk away from something?

There's nothing wrong with having high standards in your life as long as you are prepared to follow them yourself and leave when you are being abused. Most of the time people struggle because they don't have the integrity to follow what their gut is telling them and they stay in relationships far longer than they should.

When you know what you're worth, you won't put up with other people treating you badly.

This doesn't at all mean that doing this isn't a painful process. It can be incredibly painful.

If you don't walk away from toxic people, you will lose yourself in the end and have to deal with the regret of knowing that you had a chance to save yourself all of this heartache.

Be courageous and walk away.

The only thing to keep in mind here is that people often come back after you have walked away from them because they start to see just how much you are worth. The second art form is understanding when to give second chances and when to continue moving on with your life.

If you're heart continues to tell you that whatever is in front of you isn't good for you, stick to your guns. Stick to your guns at all costs because if you ignore what you know you should do the amount of pain coming your way is substantial.

If you want a life full of love and brilliance you have to first treat yourself with respect. Without taking care of yourself you will never be able to attract the type of person into your life who respects themselves fully as well.

And living a life full of love and excellence is the way to go.
