Who Buys Junk Cars For Cash In Your City Or Town?

By Raymond Williams

If you have an old junk car that is no longer running, or if you have an old car that runs but needs major repairs, there are options available to you to get rid of it and reap some of your investment. Most states have laws regarding old vehicles that are sitting idle on your property and will enforce the law when it comes to getting rid of it. You may be able to sell that junk car to someone who buys junk cars for cash.

Sometimes junkyards, salvage car buyers and scrap yards are places you can negotiate with to pay you for your junk car. They buy old wrecked cars for cash and will pay you for them. They then in turn use these cars to scrap out, or sell the useful parts of it to repair shops or people working on repairing their own cars.

To find a dealer in your area you only need but look around town and you may find fliers posted in various places about cash for junk cars or you can look up places online or in the telephone book or newspaper as other sources where they may be posted. Do your homework and research the company to find out if others have gotten a good deal from them or if there have been any problems with them in the past.

You can check the Kelly Blue Book price of your old car to see if you are getting what it is worth even if it no longer works. Also make sure that you own the title free and clear so you are able to sell it without a problem. If you do not have the title to the car get it because you will not be able to make the deal without it.

If you are looking to get rid of an unwanted vehicle, make sure that you take it to the dealer instead of having them come and get it, this will save you in the cost of towing fees and other applicable fees that are taken out of the money you would normally get for selling it. If the vehicle is in running condition you may get a little more for it.

Some dealers who buy these types of cars run advertisements in the local newspaper or phone book or may post fliers around town, look for them and call to see what they can do for you. You may be surprised at the deal you are offered by these types of companies and it is more money in the bank for you and less of a headache having to deal with a car you don't want anymore.

The laws are there to protect the buyer from getting something that is not worth the money they spent. Usually if the car is priced under $700 this will protect you and they buyer because the buyer will most likely use it for restoration or for parts. Let them know everything that is wrong with the car up front in order to protect yourself and put the transaction in writing.

For the most part junkyards and scrap yards are the ideal places to sell your old unwanted vehicles. It gets them off the road and out of your yard so that you can comply with the laws in your town or city regarding non operating vehicles on your property. You get cash for something that is no longer useful to you and the dealer gets the vehicle to scrap it or part it out to their customers who need them.
